Pamela McCormick has been compelled to create her entire life; whether it was clothing, home décor, jewelry, lesson plans or watercolor art. She is inspired by her wide variety of interests and life experiences in beachside communities; in Maui, Hawaii to San Diego and Monterey in California, and her native Canada.

As Pamela was healing from a triple ankle break from a tennis accident, she was forced to sit with her crushing desire to create and not knowing where to start.

An Anais Nin quote came to mind. “And the day came when the risk to remain tight in a bud was more painful than the risk it took to blossom.”

Her fresh, bright take on the world of watercolor art is inspired by a grateful, meditative heart with respect and awe for the beauty and natural wisdom of the intricate web of life.

Pamela’s hope is that through experiencing her stylized view of nature, it will encourage people to pause and look deeply at the wonder and miracle of life through the rhythm and flow of florals, nature and water. Then through this appreciation, be inspired to protect and steward all life and the environment.

Pamela is a Penn State graduate in marketing and business, has a masters in arts of teaching from Southern Oregon University. She currently lives in Monterey, California with her husband Steve. They have two adult children Austin and Maile. She is also a member of Carmel Art Association, Sant Cruz Art league and Santa Clara Valley Watercolor Society.
